Use Feng Shui To Help You Achieve Your 2007 Goals

Many of us experienced the shift in energy after the Sun’s strength increased and the days lengthened following the Winter Solstice on December 21st. This coincides with the time when, according to the I Ching*, we are under the influence of the trigram K’an, the element of still deep water, and the Career area in Feng Shui.

The still aspect of the water element indicates that the perfect time for review and reflection has arrived. It also coincides with the New Year—traditionally a time to review the past and design future goals and commit to the actions needed to turn your dreams into reality. If you haven’t done this already, the next two weeks are perfect for doing so.

Since the Career area represents your entire path through life, reflect not only on career and other material goals, but on your vision for your emotional, mental, and spiritual future as well.

To assure that you cover your entire life, also review specific life situations related to the Bagua. If something needs enhancement or just plain isn’t working, look to the corresponding area of the Bagua in your home or office to see if a remedy is needed.

Following are the areas of the Bagua along with a
few of the signs that an enhancement may be desirable:

  • Career – The flow in your life has stopped or there may be actual career issues.
  • Knowledge – Problems learning and/or applying new material, meditation is difficult, or your children are having problems in school.
  • Family – You are having problems with family members or other groups that you belong to.
  • Wealth – Problems with either income or outflow or you are having difficulty making decisions around money.
  • Fame – Your reputation has been damaged, your business is not growing, or you are worried about your future.
  • Relationship – Difficulty with love, marriage, or other one-on-one relationships.
  • Children – Problems with children, creativity, and/or difficulty playing and having fun.
  • Helpful People – Not receiving support from others, people not keeping their agreements with you, or you’re not able to be a helpful person yourself.
  • The Center – Undiagnosed health problems or health in general. Feeling out of balance.

There are a variety of ways to enhance an area. Sometimes cleaning or de-cluttering can solve the problem. On the other hand, if it’s an area that’s not being used, you could start to energize that space by giving it a purpose or by activating it through the addition of a pendulum or a moving object. Another easy remedy is to place something there that represents whatever you are trying to create. Use your imagination!
