FENG SHUI NOTES - March 2010
CAREER
Your Journey Through Life (Part One)

Questions to ask yourself that relate to the Career area* of your home and other buildings where you spend significant periods of time:

  • Has the flow stopped in an area of your life that you believe to be essential to who you are or to your life purpose?
  • Do you have actual career issues?
  • Do you have problems with your bladder, kidneys, ears, or with the circulation of fluids in your body?

If the answer is “yes” to any of these questions, it may be beneficial to enhance your Career area.

This area represents more than just your job! You may be surprised to find that it relates to your entire journey through life, your path to self-actualization, and whether you successfully manifest your life purpose.

I don’t mean to imply that the job aspect of the Career area is not important. It is! Even the most mundane job that you have performed has provided some form of training, lesson, or important personal connection that has moved you a step closer to actualizing your life’s purpose.

Each of us is on a path to self-discovery, whether we are conscious of it or not. Many people discover their purpose early in life. However, most of us need to try on different roles before arriving at our true calling.

Understanding your feelings--and acting accordingly--is essential to the discovery of your life purpose. This is done through deep listening. The ability to listen to your heart and your feelings—and really get what they’re telling you--as well as cultivating the art of listening to others, is an essential aspect of the Career area.

Many folks actually ignore their purpose once they find it because they believe it’s too risky or that it might be unacceptable to their family or friends. Life is too short to not listen and not to honor your path.

WATER IS A KEY ELEMENT FOR
ENHANCING THE CAREER AREA
You can add actual water or symbolic water to your
décor to stimulate results.

There are two kinds of water: still and moving. At different times in your life, you will need more of one type than the other. There will also be times when you will need an abundance of both.

If you want to stimulate your career or bring traffic into your office, consider adding a fountain or a picture of moving water such as a waterfall or a river.

If you wish to create more wisdom, peace, or stillness in your life, it would be more appropriate to place still water. This could be a picture of a pond, a lake, or a vase filled with water and a single flower. If you choose actual water, be sure to change it often. (Stagnant or dirty water can cause your life to stagnate.)

Other examples of water that can be used are artwork depicting pathways or roads, flowing lines in your décor, and the colors of black or indigo blue.

If you find yourself confused about your life purpose, if you are in a quandary about what you should do next, or if you don’t know how to be still and listen, this is an important area to enhance.

Next month, in Part Two, I’ll share more about the Career area and it’s impact on health.

May Your Journey Be Filled With Joy!
