Boost Your Health & Energy With Feng Shui!
When our homes and other spaces where we hang out are balanced and in harmony, we lift a burden off our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Good Feng Shui empowers good health because our home--and, for that matter everything else around us, including the people in our life--is an extension of our body.

When you think about your home, do you get the sense something is “out” or just doesn’t feel right? Perhaps you may not consciously know what bothers you; but even if you have only a slightly uncomfortable feeling that something is wrong, it probably is. Trust your senses! Any imbalance, however small, could be the catalyst for a future health problem. Of course, many people are extremely healthy and will not be noticeably affected. On the other hand, others will feel the imbalances immediately.

Following are a just a few of the common problems that can cause our bodies to be out of balance. (These suggestions, of course, are meant to be used in conjunction with medical advise) :
1) Incorrect placement of beds and desks or problems with the bed itself. A common mistake is having your back to the door or not being able to see the door from where you are sleeping or working. Over my years of doing Feng Shui consultations, I’ve heard countless people say that they feel safe in their home (or office) and that those placements don’t affect them. However, they do! The instinctual or reptilian part of your brain is reacting even though you may not consciously be aware of it. The results can range anywhere from feeling slightly anxious as you go through your daily activities to difficulties with sleeping and releasing stress. These inauspicious placements can also cause nervous system disorders and more serious conditions.

In general, the bed and desk should be in a commanding position—i.e. in the position furthest from the door. You should also be able to clearly see the door. When this arrangement is impossible, place mirrors so that you have a clear view of the door. If you find yourself in a situation where you are directly facing out the door, hang a round multifaceted leaded crystal between the door and your bed or desk. This is especially important if the foot of your bed is facing toward the door.

The bed itself may need to be changed. If it is too hard, life can be hard. If it’s too soft, support for achieving your dreams may be weak. Also, since ch’i (or energy) must be able to circulate around our body during sleep, it’s best not to store anything under the bed. If you sleep on a platform bed or a bed with built in storage, place a red sheet or cloth between the mattress and box springs (or on the mattress in the case of a platform bed) to symbolically allow the ch’i to circulate and nourish you throughout your sleep.

2) The lingering energy of previous occupants. We call it predecessor energy in Feng Shui and often use blessing ceremonies such as the Sealing Ceremony, an External Ch’i Adjustment, and other powerful methods to clear out old energies that have left their imprint on the property causing the same or similar health, financial, relationship, and other problems endured by previous occupants to occur in the lives of the current occupants. Often these energies are stubborn and best handled by a professional Feng Shui consultant.

3) Try to minimize and clear out as much clutter as possible and neatly store whatever is left. With regard to health, clutter can cause fatigue, confusion, depression, and excess weight. It can also cause problems related to the area of your building or land where the clutter has accumulated.

4. Long narrow hallways can cause energy to move too quickly while at the same time restricting its ability to nourish the space. This can produce respiratory, heart, anxiety, and spinal problems; also difficulties with pregnancy including miscarriages. To break up this pattern, place throw rugs, pictures on the wall, or plants at intervals along the hall.

5) All leaks should be repaired. Over a period of time, they can cause emotional instability, money problems, and running illnesses such as diarrhea, chronic sinus problems, urinary tract and bladder disorders,

We have barely scratched the surface here. If you’re interested in learning more, consider attending the Feng Shui & Health workshop listed below.
