For the past 5 months, I've been struggling with using a new system to format this newsletter--even spending more time trying to format it than actually writing. Well, the light bulb finally came on! I realized that I needed to do some Feng Shui enhancements to augment my knowledge of the process. DUH! Reviewing the Knowledge area was the obvious first choice. A close second were both Children and Helpful People. This month's article is my story about revisiting those areas and using temporary enhancements to handle my current problem.Whether you are having a seemingly irresolvable issue with your relationships, your finances, your health, or as I have had with mastering the skills related to sending out this newsletter, attention to the Knowledge area can save you time and energy. By enhancing Knowledge you can tap into wisdom and information that you may not have been previously unaware of. Balancing this area can help you to listen to the wisdom already percolating around in your subconscious. When study is essential for acquiring or learning to work with specific data, it can help you to focus. The mountain, a symbol for this area of the Bagua, has historically been associated with an inward journey of quiet contemplation, spirituality and personal growth-all components of true wisdom. The I Ching trigram for this area is shaped like a doorway. It's meant to show us that "Knowledge" is the gateway to our own inner knowing and our ability to draw on universal knowledge. This may seem unrelated to basic computer skills. However, when we feel blocked or unable to express ourselves, these issues can and should be addressed in the Knowledge area. In my own situation of finding it difficult to use a relatively uncomplicated template to format this newsletter, I created a simple three line affirmative statement to place in the main Knowledge area of my home along with my file of instructions and notes related to the program that I'm using. From there I proceeded to the Children/Creativity area in my office. I decided that I would make and place a collage of happy laughing children here. I did this to bring fun, an important component of creativity, back into the process of formatting a newsletter that is pleasing to view. Finally, I acknowledged the people I already know that I can call on for computer assistance by placing their names in my Helpful People area. I also placed a picture of an anonymous person and a small angel there to represent the possibility of help coming from an unknown person or from a "Higher" power. This is a good reminder that even though Feng Shui follows definite rules and practices, it is also an art. During those times when temporary needs or problems appear, the best remedy is often inspired by the problem itself. Blessings
on your path to wisdom! |
