In the last newsletter we discussed the Bagua* and how to determine its placement when a property is square or rectangular. When you are missing a part or an entire area of the Bagua in your home or lot, it’s especially important to enhance the missing pieces elsewhere inside your home--especially in your bedroom. That’s because most people spend a large portion of their time there and the Feng Shui of the bedroom profoundly influences your life. You will use the same method outlined in Part 1 to determine the Bagua of your bedroom or any other room: Stand at your bedroom door facing into the room. The door will be in Knowledge, Career, or Helpful People. The Bagua flows out from there with Wealth in the far left corner and Relationship in the far right corner. If, because of furniture arrangement, window placement, or missing pieces in the bedroom, you’re unable to enhance missing or weak areas of your home or lot, try to enhance the missing area in another room--preferably a room where you spend several hours each day-- such as the family or living room. In an especially challenging home, it may be necessary to work with other key rooms in addition to the bedroom or even work with each room individually, to enhance missing or challenging areas. This is rare, though; we generally pay the most attention to the Bagua of the home and the bedroom. Many homes have either a basement or second story. The Bagua is different for each level of your home. It begins where you step off the last stair into the area. For many folks this means that the main living area upstairs or part of the basement is outside of the Bagua. Up until a few years ago we only remedied those rooms that significantly impacted family life, such as bedrooms and bathrooms. With the speeding up of our life experiences, loss of family values, and the other attitude and value changes most of us have experienced, that has changed. Feng Shui Grand Master Lin Yun now advises us to adjust all areas outside of the Bagua. Often a mirror or two strategically placed to pull the missing areas into the Bagua will do the job. In the next newsletter which will come out around February 1st, we will continue with general information. Blessings & Good
