BAGUA AREAS ~ FAME

Feng Shui Notes
May 2005

For the past few months we have been exploring life situations related to the Bagua. (Go to Archives to read other articles in this series.)

Light up Your Future By Lighting Up FAME! The Fame area represents how the world sees you, your reputation, how you influence those around you, and whether you attain actual fame. It is also about enhancing your self-image and clarifying your thoughts and ideas.

Fame is related to the Fire element and summer—specifically the time beginning around the Summer Solstice until late July. This is the time when our days are the longest and we receive the most light. In other words, there is more illumination at this time. With more illumination we can attain more clarity about who we are and the impact we make on others.

Since we see best when an area is adequately illuminated, it is no surprise that the eyes or anything having to do with vision (including your vision for your life) is represented by the Fame area.

Windows are also associated with the Fame area because they are related to your eyes. They should be clean and any that are broken, cracked, or chipped should be replaced as soon as possible to insure that your view of the outer world and your role in it is clear and undistorted.

If you are interested in learning more about the relationship between eyesight and the FAME area, consider attending Feng Shui & The Vision Connection offered this year on Saturday, August 21st. Go to Workshops for more information

Enhance Fame if:
• you are not getting enough recognition or if people are noticing you for the wrong things
• you lack clarity about your future or about how others perceive you
• you are starting a new business or wish expand your work or standing in the community in any way
• you have problems with your eyes.

Place what you wish to be known for in this area such as your most important diplomas, trophies, and awards. Also, anything related to the Fire element such as the color red, candles, bright lights, bright flowers, plants, or fireplaces. Outdoor barbecues can enhance the Fame area of your lot. You can also “fire” up your Fame area by adding wood.

Avoid placing water features such as fountains, pools, or ponds in this area. Or, if they’re there already, balance them with wood and fire.

May your light shine into the world & illuminate your future!
Suzanne
