Tap Into
Wisdom By Tapping Into The KNOWLEDGE Area
Standing at your front door facing into your home or office, the Knowledge
area begins on the far left third of the wall on the front side of your
home or building and extends back to one-third of the depth of your building
on the left side. For more detail on the Bagua, go to the newsletter article

2004 to present refer to the Bagua. BAGUA BASICS – Part One in particular
discusses how to how to lay out the Bagua.
If you were only able to apply Feng Shui to one area, this would be it!
Knowledge is connected to all of the other areas of the bagua, so whenever
you feel stuck or don’t know what to do next, enhancing Knowledge
can help you to tap into wisdom and knowledge that you may have previously
been unaware of.
You might think that you need more information. The truth is that most
people have an excess of information. Reading and studying more doesn’t
always provide more answers. Often learning more through traditional sources
can actually scatter your energies and create more unanswered questions.
If you are having an issue in an area of life such as wealth or relationship
or if you’re not finding solutions to pressing health problems or
issues with your children, the solution may come from cultivating more
wisdom, rather than acquiring more information. Wisdom is best cultivated
outside of the normal information channels, such as books and the internet.
Wisdom and self-cultivation are the seed of true knowledge.
The I Ching trigram associated with Knowledge, assigns this area of the
Bagua to The Mountain, a symbol associated with quiet contemplation, personal
growth, and spirituality. The two bottom lines making up the trigram are
yin, counseling us to go within at the earth and the human level whereas
the top yang line, relating to the heavens, teaches us to actively reach
out to a higher power. Since the shape is like a doorway, the trigram
for Knowledge refers to it as a gateway to inner knowing.
You will benefit from enhancing Knowledge, if you have difficulty:
in any area of study or are faced with a challenging test
grasping or understanding information
deciding upon a course of action
expressing yourself and what you know
slowing down and being still enough to listen to your own thoughts
Your ability to go deep within yourself and discover ideas and answers
you may have never considered will be accelerated when this area is in
balance, as will your progress in any counseling or personal growth activity
in which you’re involved.
Self-trust is awakened as this area comes into balance. Inner knowledge
is activated. You no longer have to explain “why” you know
what you know. You just do. This wisdom will give you the ability to extrapolate
the essence from all things--the deeper message beyond the facts.
To enhance this area, place books or items symbolic of the type of knowledge
you are trying to embody here. This is also a great place to store and
work on your personal journals and records of your dreams. Pictures of
mountains and using light to medium shades of blue in the décor
of this area can also improve the Feng Shui of this area, as can images
of mentors, spiritual masters, and others who have inspired you to be
who you are today.
Lastly, if at all possible, use the Knowledge area as your own special
place to meditate, pray, record your thoughts and dreams, think, and study.
Or, even more importantly, just to be still and receive inspiration.
