Your Bedroom & Your Health
Simple Tips For Accelerating Your Health With Feng Shui

The bedroom is one of the key areas in the home that can affect your well-being. Following are nine tips to help you apply Feng Shui to your bedroom for better health. Use these suggestions, of course, in conjunction with sound medical advice.

  1. Whenever possible, place your bed in a commanding position—i.e. your bed is facing the door, but never directly in front of it--or even overlapping a couple of inches. If you’re unable to clearly view the door from your bed, position a mirror so that you can see it.
  2. Go for comfort! Replace your bed if it’s either too hard or too soft. A bed that’s uncomfortably hard may translate into a hard life. If your bed is too soft, you may be lacking the support you need for achieving your goals.
  3. Beds accumulate energy, so replace your bed whenever you have ended a relationship, have dealt with a severe health problem, have had a serious accident, or have suffered extreme emotional trauma. It’s also best to change your pillow from time-to-time since energy is discharged through the head during sleep.
  4. Under-bed storage keeps energy from circulating around your body during sleep, so keep that area clean and free from clutter.
  5. If you sleep on a platform bed or a bed with built-in storage, place a red sheet or cloth between the mattress and the bed frame--or, if that’s not possible, on the mattress itself. This will encourage energy to circulate and nourish you throughout your sleep.Look over your bedroom for poison arrows. These are ninety-degree corners created by walls and edges of furniture coming together at right angles. They are harmful if they point directly toward you while you sleep. Drape them with a scarf or find another way to cover them. They can contribute to problems such as a compromised immune system, anxiety disorders, and high blood pressure.
  6. Avoid headboards with sharp slats and cutouts, as they can contribute to headaches and problems with sleep.
  7. Close bathroom doors that are adjacent to your bedroom. If you have an opening without a door between your bedroom and bath, hang a crystal in the doorway or create a separation between the two spaces. This is especially important if you have problems with digestion or elimination.
  8. History does repeat itself! If previous occupants experienced serious health problems, contact a Feng Shui expert to clear all predecessor energy.
  9. Keep the bedroom simple and as uncluttered as possible.
Clutter, including too much furniture and other décor, can cause sleep disturbances.

We have barely scratched the surface here. If you are interested in learning more, consider enrolling in the upcoming Feng Shui & Health class on May 12th or doing private mentoring sessions with me. Call for information or an appointment (719) 260-7207.
