FENG SHUI TIPS TO ENERGIZE YOUR GARDEN
By Suzanne Metzger

All entrances should feel welcoming. Even the side gate that no one uses should be appealing. Each entry is an invitation to “opportunity” to enter and bless you. And, we all want that!

“Opportunity” should be able to flow in easily. Clutter, weeds, and even attractive overgrowth should never block an entrance.

The same rule applies if you live in an apartment or a townhouse and the only garden area you have is your deck or patio. You should still be able to step out into a beautiful and uncluttered space.

Whenever possible, create gently curving pathways into and around your yard. Ch’i can nourish and bless you when it is moves slowly between spaces.

If this isn’t possible, try to interrupt long straight pathways with plantings, flowerpots, or statuary along the sides of the path.

Think multi-sensory. Include a variety of colors, textures, and scents in your garden plan. Each color has a unique vibration that will contribute to your well-being.

Hanging a chime, a gong, or placing delicate garden bells in an area of your yard can contribute to the flow of positive energy. The Wealth area is an ideal place for these types of wind features.

Birdbaths, feeders, and plants that attract butterflies or other wildlife will also increase the ch’i of your garden.

• If there are problems with your lot, such as lack of privacy between your yard and your neighbor’s, a busy street next to your property, or barking dogs, try adding a mirror to reflect the problem back to its source. In the event that this doesn’t work, consider contacting me about the possibility of doing an External Ch’i Adjustment. This is just one of many transcendental remedies that can work wonders with a difficult situation.

• Think about adding a gazebo or an awning for comfort if your yard is especially sunny.

• Consider dividing your yard into several small areas. Each section can be devoted to a special purpose, such as building wealth, healing, or meditation, or it can have a theme dictated by the area of the Bagua in which it falls.

• Placing a bench or a swing is a nice addition to most yards and goes especially well in the Relationship area.

Your garden and your entire yard is actually an extension of your home. You can even think of it as another room, so find ways to use and enjoy it

Garden blessings!
