THE FENG SHUI CRYSTAL
By Suzanne Metzger

Greetings!

As we enter March, which is usually the snowiest month here in Colorado, I decided to add some sparkle to this month’s newsletter and discuss crystals.

The use of round multifaceted leaded* crystal prisms is one of the most popular, versatile, and effective Feng Shui remedies! They are used for a multitude of problems found in common floor plans and to remedy the ills found in almost all modern architectural building styles.

You may wonder why we recommend leaded crystals more often than natural quartz crystals. Natural crystals have entirely different qualities. They can also be beneficial, but they create different results. I often recommend adding them to landscaping and to the home décor when a more subtle energy or directional shift is desired.

A leaded crystal, on the other hand, can be used:
      *  To powerfully circulate energy around a central point.Generally, this is accomplished by hanging a crystal either in the energetic or actual center of a building or a particular room.
or
      •  To stop or slow down the energy flow through a space. An example would be to hang a crystal in a window or in front of a glass door to either prevent an energy leak or to stop any negative energy that might be entering from the outside.

In lieu of a round multifaceted prism in a window, you can hang a different shaped leaded crystal (such as a heart or an icicle) or place a decorative piece of leaded glass in the window. If you have a wide windowsill, you can even place a leaded crystal vase or figurine on the sill.

Colored Crystals

Even though clear crystals are most often used, they now come in several colors. Colored crystals are especially useful when both a color cure and a crystal are needed in the same area.

If you are unsure whether it’s okay to use a colored one for Feng Shui purposes, it is usually best to choose a clear one.

Next month I will discuss the properties and uses of colored crystals.

May your heart sparkle as we prepare to enter spring!
Suzanne

* When buying Feng Shui crystals, ask the vendor if they are leaded. The store’s buyer will know. Don’t assume a crystal is leaded unless it is advertised as leaded.

Clear glass crystals are identical in appearance. They are less expensive to produce and therefore usually cost less. They are fine for purely decorative purposes, but not for Feng Shui. Larger leaded crystals are noticeably heavier, but with smaller crystals, it’s almost impossible to determine if they’re leaded by holding them.
