2005 - The Year of the Wood Rooster
Time to wake up! February 9th marks the beginning of the 2005 Chinese
Lunar New Year--the year of the Wood Rooster.
Feng Shui Grandmaster Lin Yun calls this the year of the “Divine
Rooster” because he symbolizes the dawn, the rising Sun, and he
is also the traditional symbol of yang energy. He has a divine spark,
empowering him to transform inauspicious energies.
The rooster is also known by some as the Phoenix--the mythological bird
who burns and is magically reborn, rising from his own ashes. Both the
Rooster and the Phoenix are thought to have the power to magically transform
evil. By tuning into the positive magic of the Rooster year yourself,
you can harness that energy to make desired changes in your own life.
Since Roosters are cocky and feisty, you can beneficially use this sparkly
energy to further projects where more attention from others and the need
be noticed is desirable
At the same time, it’s necessary to watch the tendency to be too
feisty, over-confident, or overly optimistic. Be sure to do a reality
check before engaging in anything that would be considered risky.
Lin Yun predicts this year we will continue to experience conflict in
world affairs and in our finances. Old systems that no longer work will
be challenged both here and abroad. However, through hard work, focus,
and other virtues of the Rooster listed below, the following year will
be positive.
Personally and globally, it’s time to wake up to insure success
by learning from the Rooster himself! Our biggest lessons will come from
mastering his virtues. He is skilled and extremely clever at handling
financial matters, trustworthy, fair, compassionate, and an extremely
hard worker. Like most other birds, he has sharp eyes and can be extremely
focused. This allows him to find even the smallest seeds in the most depleted
soil.
He is also brave and won’t hesitate to use his strong beak and
claws to fight to protect and defend his territory and his family--even
if it means his own death. This might be the year for you to take a stand
and defend or speak up for your ideals. The Rooster is not afraid to use
his voice and ask; so, if you need information or help, it’s important
to actively ask for assistance.
Baby roosters—those children born this year—will be strongly
connected to the family and can be especially devoted to their mothers.
This fiery little bird will be a joyful addition and have all of the good
qualities of the rooster listed above. If you do have a little one this
year, get ready for some lively changes to your household!
The directional energy of this year is west, which brings out the energy
of metal. So this year of the Wood Rooster has attributes of both metal
and wood, which bodes well for those of you who make your living in science,
technology, and related fields. This is because these areas require focus
and often work in a specialized area of expertise.
Even though at first glance this doesn’t seem as though it would
be an ideal relationship year, it actually can be a good time to spice
up your marriage, begin a new relationship, or even marry. The Rooster
is a bit of a Don Juan. He also has strong family values, is hardworking,
reliable, compassionate, and is good at handling money.
May the blessings of the new year fill your heart with joy as you develop
and use the virtues of the Rooster to make the most of the year ahead!
