Your Doors: Pay Attention To What They Are Telling You About Your Life! Summer Greetings! Are you playing yet? Play, fun, and love, qualities inherent to being human, are naturally sparked by the Fire element. However, as adults we often get caught up in the seriousness of life and neglect to let them unfold. In which case, they must be consciously generated. We may even need to schedule them into our busy lives. When we do choose to have these qualities as an active part of our life, they expand for us personally and touch others in positive ways. Think of dancing flames. Their movements are animated and playful. Flames can be a metaphor for play. Their movements are organic and motivated by an inner force. Our own personal Fire is generated whenever we engage in new interests and activities, meet new people, or take [reasonable] risks. To enhance the positive qualities of Fire in your life, check the Fame area of your home. When you spend time, pass through, or even view this area, you should have an optimistic feeling for your future and the future of the planet. If you don’t, add a touch of fire—perhaps a candle, a painting of a vibrant sunrise, a picture of your favorite pet, or a red crystal. Now go play & enjoy your summer! ***** Doors are symbolic of the adult voice. If you feel that people don’t listen to you or really “get” what you’re trying to communicate, or if you have children who dominate your household, check out the condition of your doors. The main entrance to your home or office represents your public voice. Its condition represents your ability to communicate with people from the different areas of your life--such as your neighborhood, your work, your church, or your community as a whole. It is also the main access for opportunities to enter your life. It should always be in good condition and used regularly BY YOU as well as your guests. Other exterior doors, such as side, back, or garage doors represent indirect opportunities and also need to be in good working order. If you have an interior door that is not functioning properly, check out its Bagua location to see if it is an area of life where you lack power. For instance, if you have a door that doesn’t open easily in the Wealth area, it may be difficult to attract prosperity into your life. Bedroom doors are especially important because they represent your personal voice. If you’re having problems in your relationships, check all of the doors. Anytime a door is missing between rooms--either because it’s been removed or it’s part of the building design--it may be affecting one or more family member’s ability to communicate about subjects related to the area of the Bagua in which it falls. An example is a missing door in the Children’s area. This could indicate disagreements around how to raise the children, or the children themselves may be having difficulties with friends or in school. Expressing creativity could also be a problem. There are several ways to give an empty doorway a voice. The best solution, of course, is to install a door. However, that’s not usually practical. The simplest cure is to hang a crystal or chime in the doorway. Squeaky hinges are another “sticky” problem. They may contribute to a household member’s achy joints or an arthritic condition corresponding to the body part related to the Bagua area where the offending hinge is located. For example, creaking doors in the Family area, may indicate that someone in the household suffers from a knee problem. These noisy hinges can also relate to unresolved problems, fears, and worries. I have noticed that many people aren’t conscious of the noise. If this is you, ask yourself if there are problems or fears that you are ignoring and need be addressed. Next month I’ll continue the discussion on doors. If you have any door questions, please send an e-mail to me at Suzanne Metzger@ earthlink.net and I’ll be happy to address them in a subsequent newsletter. Please use door question in the subject line. For more information on workshops, consultations, and services call Suzanne at 719.260.7207. May abundant opportunities flow into your life. |
