YOUR DOORS: PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT
THEY ARE TELLING YOU! (Part Two)

By Suzanne Metzger

Greetings!

July for most people was a whirlwind month with strong Fire energy. The theme beginning in August and continuing to mid-September is much quieter and an expression of strong Earth.

Based on the I Ching’s relationship to Feng Shui, the Bagua area of Relationship is the strongest now with emphasis on the qualities of stability, peace, and providing support to others.

If you’ve been living in harmony with the seasons, you will naturally bring in a softer manifestation of last month’s “play” energy to combine with the earthier qualities beginning now.

Last month we began to explore some of the many problems related to doors. This month we’ll continue looking at how certain door problems might affect us.

If you missed last month’s article, go to our newsletter archives.

YOUR DOORS: PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT
THEY ARE TELLING YOU! (Part Two)

Doors always have a lot to do with communication--especially your ability as an adult to communicate clearly and have others understand and act upon what you say.

• A door that swings open or shut by itself is like a symbolic hand reaching out from the unknown trying to communicate a secret.

The “secret” may be that there is either a hidden or known level of instability in an area of your life. The area of the Bagua or the function of the room where the door is located usually indicates what part of your life needs work.

For instance, if your entrance is in the Career area and the offending door is in your entryway, you may either have an unstable Career or opportunities on your life path may easily slip away.

If the offending door is in your bedroom, it may mean that your relationship is not stable. This can be true even if your bedroom is not located in the Relationship area of your home.

• Stuck doorscan cause blocked or stuck energy. They contribute to difficulty moving forward in the area of your life corresponding to the life situation indicated by their location. They can also contribute to problems with your Career or job. This is also true if a door scrapes on the floor or carpet, causing it to be difficult to open.

• A door that’s hard to close is often related to procrastination or difficulty in completing projects. It can even slow down the completion of simple, mundane tasks.

• A Dead Door is a door that can’t be opened at all.Sometimes we have purposely blocked off a door so that it is impossible to enter or exit. Often this has been done to accommodate a large piece of furniture. Other times, piles of heavy clutter stacked against a door make it impossible to use. Occasionally, the door is permanently stuck.

Whatever the reason, a blocked door can stifle your voice making it difficult for you to express yourself fully. It can even contribute to difficulty with your voice or vocal capacity.

The best remedy, of course, is to rearrange your furniture, purge your clutter, or repair a permanently stuck door.

If this is impossible, an alternative is to place a small round mirror at eye level on either side of the door, to allow the ch’i to flow as it would if the door was being used.

• If you have a loose doorknob, this could indicate that you are having a difficult time grasping the significance of the events in your life.

Finally, if your door problem is seasonal (like a sticking door) and only lasts for a few weeks during the year, the Feng Shui consequence is usually temporary and it’s often better to ignore it.

May abundant opportunities flow into your life!
