A Feng Shui Look At Halloween
The Fame area is one of the most interesting and misunderstood areas of the Bagua. Since I’ve written about Fame many times before, I want to stretch myself in the spirit of play and go into a different aspect of Fame: The connection between Fame & Halloween.
Yes, there are some creepy connections to Halloween, but I want to concentrate on the FUN aspects related to the Fame area–like the parties, costumes, spirit of play, and the access to new forms of creativity.
Who do you want to be? Last year I was the Pine Tree Diva: Pine Nut. I was all decked out in green with a little fluff, a pine wreath headdress, and fairy wings. It was not only fun for me, but it delighted the kids around me and gave me a whole new way of being.
The question, “Who do you want to be?” isn’t just about Halloween. It’s about your entire life. And, the Fame area is about the future—YOUR FUTURE!
What part of you wants to shine or be discovered? How does that fit in with your goals—both short term and long term?
Even if you don’t don a costume, you can assume another personality or way of being for a day, a week, a year, or even for the rest of your life. Anytime you do something new, you’re stepping into Fame territory, which you can claim as part of your new self. Pine Nut, for me, was about taking action toward my commitment to having more fun in the future
If you feel stuck, enhance your Children/Creativity area along with your Fame area.
Enhancements to the Children/Creativity area can help start the creative juices flowing and help you think outside of the box, while improvements to the Fame area can make it okay to have another part of you seen by others. It can help you to be noticed. It can even allow you to permanently step out beyond where you have been before and let you publically claim a part of yourself that others haven’t known about you.
Of course, this information goes way beyond Halloween. You can do this at any time with any part of yourself that needs or wants to be seen and known. If you have business concerns, enhance Fame with something related to your career. Or, if you want to create or improve a relationship, you can enhance Fame with something related to relationships. (In these cases don’t forget to also enhance the corresponding Bagua areas.)
Common enhancements to the future aspects of Fame include:
- Vision boards
- Affirmations for what you are intending to create
- Artwork related to your goals
- Anything red
Enhancements to the Children/Creativity area to spark the fun related to Fame can include:
- Items that are playful and fun
- Anything that inspires your inner child
- Affirmations related to increasing your creativity
