Messages from your Door

What are the doors going into your home telling you?

Doors, in general, represent your adult-self. They are also related to the function of the room and the area of the Bagua where they are located. For instance, if your backdoor enters into your kitchen, which also happens to be in your Relationship area, it can affect health and your ability to receive nourishment, along with other things that the kitchen is related to. It is also connected to issues related to the relationship area.

The architectural front door to your home- and other spaces that you occupy–is the main mouth of chi—i.e. the place where energy and opportunity enter. Ideally, it is easily opened, spacious, clutterfree, and visually appealing.

Other entrances into your home represent indirect opportunities–which may be harder to recognize and more difficult to take advantage of. However, all doors Any unused or poorly maintained door can not only block opportunity, but also present an energy leak.

Tips for attracting opportunity and blessings:

• Energize your front door. It’s simple! Just use it.  Make a point of going in and out at least once a day.

• Make sure your door has a strong presence. If it’s not visible from the street, create a well-marked pathway to it. It should standout in some way. You can do this through the décor on your porch, landscaping, or painting the door a color that you love and that harmonizes with the colors a visitor will see looking into your home as they stand

Please note that, although red is often mentioned in Feng Shui circles as the ideal color for a front door, that isn’t necessarily true. It’s important to consider the facing direction of your home, the presence of other elements, and your personal taste.

• Wash and/or paint any doors that need to be cleaned up. Also, make sure that the hardware is clean and functioning.

• Never block a doorway with coats, shoes, and other clutter or heavy furniture. It should open all of the way.

• Oil squeaky doors.  In Feng Shui, squeaky doors are connected to creaky joints ranging from a jaw that clicks to creaky arthritic joints.

• Fix doors that stick or that are difficult to open (unless it’s due to a temporary weather situation) Doors that are difficult to open can relate to an area of life where you feel personally stuck. They can also be connected to joint problems.

• If you enter and exit your home through your garage door, you may be limiting opportunity. Also, this door often contains energy that is impatient or moving too It’s common for an attached garage door to be located in the Helpful People area. Keep in mind that relationships don’t work well unless you take time with people and savor the nuances of who they are as people. This is as true of casual acquaintances and non-family members as it is with those folks you have close relationships with or are around everyday. So, make it a point to slow down when coming or going through your garage.

If, on the other hand, your garage door is in Knowledge, a door here may make it more difficult to tune into the deeper levels of anything you’re committed to learning or even tapping into deeper wisdom and spirituality. When garage doors are in other areas of the Bagua, issues corresponding with that area are possible. So what messages are you and others receiving as you enter and leave your home?

May your doors open easily & invite opportunity to flow effortlessly into you,
