Harness the Wood Element for Powerful Feng Shui & Right Action

In last month’s article, “Spring For More Green,” I emphasized the color green and the Wood element’s relationship to both the Family and Wealth areas of the Bagua.

The Wood element is strongest from March until early June, so it’s wise to harness its energy now. This is the energy that can get you moving. This is also the time when the chi of the earth is rising. We’re now beginning to see more color in the landscape and soon those cute wildlife babies will be making their debut.

Use Wood power between now and the end of April to recommit to anything that’s incomplete in your life. This is an especially good time to refocus and gain momentum.

Then, for the best results, begin your NEW projects toward the end of April.

Tips to help you tap into the qualities of Wood

1. Just begin! The Wood element is all about action. If you’ve been thinking about an area of your life that needs work, jump in and take the first step.

Often that is all you’ll need to do to gain momentum and keep moving forward. Just in case, though, it’s wise to schedule some specific times to continue working on your project. Honor these times as you would honor an appointment with a friend.

2. Add more of the Wood element to the Family and Wealth areas of your home & lot. This includes:

  • Actual wood items. Cardboard, paper, and composite wood products also count. By the way, I’m not talking about adding paper clutter-although you might choose clearing it as a project : )
  • Tall plants, bookcases, cabinets, fencing, or other tall, rectangular shapes.
  • The color green. Even consider wearing more green for an added boost.

3. Make sure that the area where you’ll be doing your work is as expansive and clutterfree as possible. Wood represents growth. For new ideas and possibilities to sprout, you’ll need room to spread your wings.

4. Add the Water element to your Family and Wealth areas. Water increases the Wood element. This can be in the form of actual water, the colors black and dark blue, or artwork representing water. You can also use wavy lines and flowing shapes in your décor to represent water.

Finally, since the shape of wood is tall and slender, you can even wear clothing designed to give you a taller, leaner look regardless of your size or body type.  However, if you are already tall and slender, you constitutionally have more Wood. This means that you’re already contributing Wood to your environment.

May the energy of right action fill you now!
